Newbies Corner / What do you ride and why?

Ok so I'm anout to come into a lil money and am going to eat my words of '' I'd never spend that much F%^**ing much money on a bicycle" so just takin a lil sample what brand you ride and why you like it better than others .

Tech Bench / Crankset

Ok toasted my crankset so here's my noob questions..when measuring the arms is it from CTL to CTL of holes or end to end of arm?..and this one may be obvious and i just dont see it but what does it matter how many speeds you have for the crankset?Not sure if that makes sense.

Didnt know where to put this so Ill just post it and the admin can do what ever with it...Drivin home yesterday seen the Police picking a mountain bike up on interstate 70 by the airport looked as if it may have fallen off someones bike rack. So if you got to where you were goin and were missin a bike there ya go.

Newbies Corner / How many miles can you ride?

Being this is my first year riding , and in an attempt to judge how out of shape I am, I am curious to how many miles of trail on average you can ride in a day? I know there are all sort of factors that can play in to this just speaking in general terms. If you care to share give an example i.e " I can do 5 laps on green valley " somethin like that

Im new to the sport and so of course new to the trails . Was just wondering what the general concensus was on direction to ride the trails at BCSP I know alot can be rode in either direction was just curious thanx in advance....Rob
