French Lick Resort / Loss of a Fellow Rider
« on: September 19, 2016, 09:02:40 AM »
French Lick MTB would like to extend sympathy to the family of Mike Thurston from Washington, IN who tragically was killed on Sunday while riding.
He enjoyed riding the trail at French Lick and you could always tell when he was in the woods because you could hear him whistling as you were riding.
He was an inspiration to me as he fought to overcome many health challenges and had the "never give up attitude".

You will be missed by many!

RIP Mike

French Lick Resort / TRAIL CONDITIONS 2016
« on: February 16, 2016, 06:27:38 AM »
Please post here any new updates for the 2016 riding season.

As of 2/16/2016 the snow is melting away and the temps are slowly rising which will cause the trail to become sloppy in a lot of places.
It is recommended that you avoid the trails during this thaw stage to keep the trails in good shape for spring riding.

Thank you,

Traci

French Lick Resort / Liability Waiver, Please sign out !
« on: October 07, 2012, 07:09:53 PM »
Just a reminder for the folks coming and riding at French Lick MTB trails. French Lick is a private owned facility and we are all thankful that it is open and available for us to ride free of charge. However, it has been mentioned once again from the manager that it is very important that riders are signing the liability waiver that is in the Golf Pro Shop prior to riding. It is a small price to pay for the usage of this private facility. We are working together with the manager to come up with some ways to let people know who come and ride that they should sign out, but by now, most or all of the HMBA members know about it. We just ask that you take 5 min out of your time to walk in and sign and say hello to the folks inside. They enjoy having us come in, but also it is our responsibility to follow the local trail guidelines so we will continue to be allowed to ride without any issues coming up. Please try and do your part and sign out prior to riding if and whenever possible. Your help and cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Thank you
PLEASE NOTE: The liability forms need to be signed before each ride, they are dated for the day of your ride.

Find a Trail / Ben Hawes
« on: November 19, 2011, 11:24:56 PM »
This was my second time to drive to Owensboro,KY TO Ride Ben Hawes! It's fast, flowing, high berms, lots of roller coaster riding and with it now being a complete loop, just under 7 miles!!!
Lots of locals were their today when we rode but only came upon a few riders coming back after the lake and the parking lot was pretty full.
Leave cover wasnt bad and you can see signs of Alex All over the trail!!
Kudos to you Sir for yet another wonderful trail and so close to Indiana!!

Versailles State Park / Thank You for the great Signs on the trails
« on: September 05, 2011, 11:23:31 PM »
This was our first time over to the trails, and we really did not have very much time left to ride. We grabbed a map from the Trail head and took the 4 mile Beginner trail because of the unfamiliar area and time.
It was GREAT!!!
What we really liked was the great signage on the trail as well, along with a map on one of the trail signs.
This is great for new people not familiar with the area as ourselves.
Also, this beginner trail is a great taste of what MTB really is like. I liked the ways you gave the trail great flow, berms, bridges, rocks, and roots.....which is a little of everything a MTB rider will find when riding trails in Indiana and surrounding states.

Thank you again...your park is Beautiful, and we cannot wait to come back again and ride more.

Find a Trail / Beginner trails for beginners
« on: May 31, 2011, 09:39:54 AM »
Ok everyone....input needed. Trying to get my daughter more involved in riding off trail and need some advice on Indiana trails that offer good beginner trails.
We have rode BCSP Limekin trail, and she has rode French Lick(which is not really a beginner trail due to the rocks)
I know Harmony is great as I have ridden it....but what else..
Speak up about your parks and let us know where is a good beginner trail....where you can get your confidence and want to do it over and over again......
Thanks!!!!!!!!! ;D

French Lick Resort / April 23, 2011 Flooding in French Lick
« on: April 24, 2011, 08:04:58 PM »
Well, John and I went to French Lick today to take a look at all the flooding taking place, and I captured a few shots that I thought everyone would like to see. Most have been uploaded on my facebook page, and if I can figure out how to attach them here I will...but for some reason it wont let me upload them...shoot me a message if you would be able to help me get them on here. The sign for the trail is under water and the path leading to the trail head is under water as well.
A lot of business were affected and shut down today and most likely will be closed this week....
I am ready for this to end soon...Miss the trails as we all do... :-\
West Baden Springs is now closed, and Fast Eddies, Jay C store, etc...all all shut down.
