So this is not directly racing related, but it is training related.
I was thinking I was in good shape for the Breakdown as I ride BCSP 10 miles every week throughout the year. I can usually complete whatever 10 mile route I pick for the day in a little under 2 hours. My average times are around 6 mph. I thought this was reasonable... until I ran the Breakdown and realized that I was at the very back of the pack.
So obviously I have a ton of room for improvement, but I am not sure what I should be doing to get my speed up. What are the best training regiments to use to increase my speed? I probably lose most of my time on climbs, so I am guessing I need to focus there, but again, anything specific that I should be doing? I will take any and all advice.
I want to make sure I have improved before next years Breakdown.
And just to be clear, I still had a blast, but I want to set a goal now for next year and work towards it.
