Events / Brown County Epic Question
« on: October 05, 2017, 04:15:00 PM »
I've never been so I have a few questions.  I don't have the money to spring for the event passes, but want to go check it out and talk to some vendors and such.  Is there a ticket required to get in to the vendor tents and such?  My wife and kids would be coming with me and I'll probably only have an hour or so before they're bored to tears regardless.  I don't mind spending a few bucks, but I don't see buying a $50 ticket just to walk around for an hour.  Is there anything at all that we can do there for free (or really cheap?)  My kids are 1.5 and 3.

Events / Any chance other biking events could be posted here?
« on: September 01, 2017, 04:00:17 PM »
I'm new to riding in Indiana, and just finished the DINO race series (my first races!).  A ton of fun!  I just found out that there are other races and biking activities occasionally around Indy.  For instance, I just found out about the Griffin race and festival this weekend, and I can't go since I didn't find it sooner.  I don't know if there is a better place to find out about bike festivals, races, demo events and the like, but I wish there was a good central place to have things like that posted for all the Indy mtn bike crowd to see.  Is there someplace else I should be looking?  The only other thing I've been told is to watch facebook, which I try to avoid, but even so, how even on facebook would one find them?  Seems like the people putting on these kinds of events would love to have a better place to advertise in a central location.

Anyone have tips to find these types of events?

any new updates on this?

Tech Bench / Tires for DINO series XC races
« on: June 06, 2017, 04:39:05 PM »
I'm running in the dino series XC races this year for the first time and I'm riding a 2015 Stumpjumper FSR. I'm running the stock Ground Control Butcher and Purgatory tires which I actually like a lot, but they could be faster rolling I'm finding. I'm looking for some advice and going to a tire that might be a little lighter and faster rolling. I don't mind sacrificing a little traction, as I know that compromise is the name of the game.

What do you race on?
