Yellowwood State Forest / Bikepacking
« on: October 14, 2017, 03:11:33 PM »
Were going bikepacking nest week and considering Yellowwood.  Is all of Yellowwood back country?  If not we'll head to HNF.

I think we got what we needed. Thanks for the info.  Also the Brown County Antique Machinery has their show in May.  If you need any shakes I'm sure they could help you out

Key word here when searching is "Foundations"  Found a post from 2012 where part of my question was answered.  Also there was talk about cutting shakes. (Wooden Shingles)  I know the Brown County Antique Machinery Association has a shake mill. I'm sure they would be very accommodating  Now trying to find dates on when trails in BCSP were built

Called the Park last week. No one knew.  I got the email of a Asst Manager. Emailed him last week.

Newbies Corner / Stone foundations on Hesitation Point and Pine loop
« on: March 01, 2017, 09:54:09 PM »
My daughter is working on a little project.  We need to know the story on the two building foundations on Hesitation Point.  Also the stone structure on Pine Loop at the top of the hill.  Sorry if this already answered by my searches have come up empty.  Thanks in advance and with any luck you'll see the project on youtube soon.

Find a Trail / Re: Best option in KY/northern TN???
« on: December 05, 2016, 02:21:52 PM »
As usual, I'm a day late and a dollar short.  We went to Mammoth National Park and rode Big Hollow and North loop and had a blast. Great Flow.  If anyone gets a chance to ride them I would highly recommend them.

Tech Bench / Re: Fox Triad

Looks like 150 bucks.  What are upgrade options or is it best just to have it rebuilt

Tech Bench / Fox Triad

I have a Fox Triad rear shock and the blue lockout/pro-pedal/full open lever spins around completely loose without any click position feel at all.  I'm assuming it needs rebuilt.  Will a seal kit fix this or is this a nitrogen issue?

So. if  I understand correctly from reading DNR's website, you can camp anywhere along the trails in HNF?

Rants and Raves / Re: What's your favorite bike shop and why?

I gotta say when our police dept started our bike team Gray Goat did every thing they could to help us out.  Since then I've shopped there exclusively with never a bad experience.  They are a great group of people and very helpful.  Also great supporters of the bike community.

And what a diverse group we are.  Thanks for adding that Paul, the more communication the better.  I'm personally not against the permits, I see it no different than a hunting or fishing license.  I just hope some funds finds its way back to the trails.  BTW you guys do a great job on the trails.

Does the HMBA receive grant money from the state for trail building?  Is there any plan to have a portion of the permit money go back to the trails?  I have no problem paying the fee if a portion goes back into the trails.  Just my 2 cents

Just had my meeting with our principle and Martinsville High school and Middle School will start our Mountain Bike club at the first of the year
