Steve at mathews bike shop. He’s my go to guy. All my bikes have wheels he’s built on them. None better. I do stupid shit and take bad lines. I’ve had his wheels all over Indiana out to pisgah windrock bike park and many other places no issues

Find a Trail / Re: Ideas for trails in Michigan
« on: June 20, 2018, 08:48:24 AM »
Beer Detroit I’ve heard good things about the potowami trails highland park rec area has great trails. Holt ridge lake area trails are good. Very twisty. Been up to Brighton and ridden torn shirt. Main thing to remember is nothing is really techy at all in that area. Torn shirt in Brighton is labeled a black diamond and it’s no harder then greenvalley

Canfield bros pedals. They have 2-3 different designs very thin grippy as shit. I don’t run flats but several people I ride with run their pedals and swear by them.

So how big a bus are you guys going to throw huff under for this. Maybe he’s not a current member but he was a former president and a known trail sanitizer. Surprised he did this knowing how hard it is to get into places.

Brown County State Park / Re: Hobbs Hollow Update
« on: October 28, 2017, 07:18:32 PM »
So, Hobbs had its first official rescue Thursday afternoon.  Thanks to all the riders who stopped to help, guide the EMTs to my location, ride my bike out, etc.  Bottom line is that I got too close to the trail edge in the compression on the back side of a roller, lost front wheel traction in the leaves and landed square on my hip. Bike is fine, but I now have a total hip replacement. Doc was surprised, said the bone was thicker than normal and strong so it was due to impact and not degeneration.

Fortunately it happened fairly close to the "emergency exit" on Flow 2 so it was an easy rescue for the EMTs.

It was my second lap of the afternoon on Hobbs and I've ridden it at least 50 times over all so I knew the trail and conditions.  Plus, I was only rolling it, not jumping.  Stuff happens, fast.
Damn dude heel quick

He probably didn't think he had to say "but don't take it for FOUR HOURS of fun!" ::)
Would have only been 3 hrs of fun if my one buddy wouldn't have been so slow

One other thing to consider, at a place like Brown County State Park, it's really easy for someone to go out on a Demo bike and then be gone for hours, meaning that other people wanting to try out that bike maybe don't get a chance to ride it.  With a limited number of bikes that a company can bring, it makes things a bit more fair for customers if the demo is limited to place without a bunch of miles of trails.

Glad you added this...RaleighGuy should know about this---had a Santa Cruz out for HOURS at VSP/Hassmerfest last year! [emoji35][emoji36][emoji19]
Hey I asked on time frame guy told me to have fun so I had fun. On a positive note if I was wanting a 27.5+ bike the high tower would be high on my list
