There is uphill, you have to pay for the downs, but the Potato Run Trail (the return to the top) is a nice grade for climbing and make short work of getting back up to the top.

When upswing that part if the AHT keep in mind you have to ride next to the horse camp area and on a trail that is both the AHT and a horse trail for a few hundred feet. Please be careful about yeilding to horses here. It's one of the very rare shared trails in our park and we must be courteous to maintain a good relationship with the park and other trail users.

Sale? Sure I'll sell you mine. New crankset with less than 60 miles chain and rear cassette less than 100. Almost all miles were put on with a thick protective coating of brown county mud. Chain comes pre-stretched and all gear teeth have sharp edges safely removed :-D. Cheap cheap cheap!
In all seriousness I dont think I made out too bad. Might have cooked a ceramic bottom bracket and the chain. Glad I chose to ride the hardtial.

Agreed! Thanks to all involved in making this years event happen. The crowd for Friday and Saturday was amazing. To bad the rain drove many off Sunday. It was quite a fun ride despite the rain.

I'll be in the camping area with a inverter running in the car to charge my camera batteries and head lights. Feel free to stop by for some power. It's a green wagon with a big basket and rack on top. My name is rich. You'll find there are plenty of helpful smiling faces at this event and I would feel safe plugging in a phone somewhere, like the bath house, and leaving it to charge.

Although it I'm sure it works to absorb shock. It would seem to be between the lack of dampening and it ability to absorb peddling forces, this type of wheel would be the riding equivalent of suspension bikes from 15 years ago

I have got the stickers to place on the trail markers. Many new carsonite signs where put in over the summer, none have the mountain bike stickers yet. Rest assured biking is still encouraged on rocky ridge . The trail circling back to the campground and a (beginner loop off that) is part of a grant and will be machine built. Hopefully we will get on the ground this winter /spring with it.
