Buy the best bike you can afford. Hard tails with a suspension front fork are less expensive than a full suspension. If you are not familiar with Mt. Bikes talk to a good shop. Check the internet and bike mags. If you can demo bikes that helps. Only you will know which one is right for you. Riding on trails is harder on a bike than the road. Get a bike that can hold up.

Not having skills or being afraid of getting hurt are the reasons people make ride arounds. Having a ride around already built in doesn't take the macho out of the skillful riders. I don't know about you but getting hurt isn't my favorite part of Mt. Biking, while it is a when not if part of it.

Can you tell me what time of day you guys ride, because if you have that many confortations when you ride I'll make sure I don't ride at those times. I've never had that problem because I always start the conversation with bikers and hikers. You always get what you give.
