Just wondering what people were finding the total accent to be.

I rode in the 2011 race on my super fly with a rigid fork. For me it was good with mtb gears on Elkins ville Rd coming and going also combs rd. Although I have never ridden a x bike, I sure did like having that 2.4 up front on those fast gravel decents. And with gun season opening this weekend ,all those trucks will surely help smooth things out.

All good advise in the previous posts. I wore a under armour cold weather shirt 1 time at my first iceman race and found that to be a mistake, too constricting on your whole chest. A base layer shirt with front panel wind breaker fabric works great. Bar mitts are  good in real cold weather. And a hot cup of coffee when you get done is the best. Enjoy your first winter riding!!

Yellowwood state forest has a nice primitive cg. It's more remote that bcsp but still public. And just a few minutes west from the west gate. Happy camping!!

We saw you Rob and Jack out there. Thanks for your hard work, looked like the rain will have a hard time puddling up next time it rolls through.

First I want to thank ,Alex , i believe that that was your name, that was with the large group from Kentucky riding at the park yesterday. He was very prepared to help anyone with a first aid kit, better than anything I even have in my medicine cabinet. I took a hard hit face first and he was more than helpful getting me cleaned up out there. I saw a few people yesterday without helmets, well I wouldn't want to know what shape I'd be in today had I not been wearing mine. I'm sure everyone on this forum wears theirs , and I've never said anything to people that didn't have one on for fear of making them mad , but maybe it would be worth the chance.

It was actually closed down for quite a while, best I remember. Then it opened back up as Gnaw Mart.I remember getting one of those tenderloins for lunch, I couldn't eat dinner that night, belly buster ;-)

I've been to the race @ England Idlewild a couple times, and I have to agree with you Eric

I think you are right edf. I had it in my mind that we would still do Aynes as before, only bail off left on GV, then once it ties back on to NT, it would continue as usual. My bad!! I wonder what the mileage would be for that route?

You would still have the climb on Aynes. You would turn left on GV, only missing the short downhill side of Aynes, the two way headed back to NT and a small section of the return on NT.

Right on Fett. I thought it was pretty close to getting done for last years race, but due to the discussion starting too close to race day it wasn't feasible, thats the reason i wanted to open the discussion in time to get it worked out.

Has anyone ridden painted hills' rembrandt road in martinsville? I am there for work on occasion and it feels like you are climbing a roller coaster, and thats in a truck. I just wonder what the grade is?  Not super long, but of all the places I've been in southern In. It seems like the steepest by far.
