Post by: JmZ on August 24, 2006, 11:28:49 AM
6 Miles in the City!

The Rum Village Annex has 6 miles of trail for mountain biking and hiking.  There are trail sections for beginners, intermediate and advanced riders.  Check out the trail map for details and location.  The Rum Village Annex is located just outside the west gate to the main Rum Village Park in South Bend's southwest side.

For more information please visit www.nimbabike.org .

To get there:

Take US-31 North into South Bend
Turn Left onto Chippewa Av.
Turn Right onto Gertrude.
Crest the hill, pass the trailhead on the left, and turn right into Rum Village Park.

For those using a mapping program themselves... the best address to use is:

2626 South Gertrude St.
South Bend, IN 46614

I just moved to the SW Michgan area and I'm interested in trying out this trail. This was posted a few years ago, is this information still accurate? Also, which is the best direction to ride the trail? To me, it looks like I should start the green trail at Trailhead, get onto the blue trail by Canadian turnpike, then start red at Advanced Trail, and then finish up at Logjam.

Rummy has got a TT race this sunday. This trail is tight twisty hilly!!! I pre-rode the trail last sunday and I'm heading up to do the TT thats how good the trail is! Let's go up north and join our northern brothers and sisters and show them our support! By the way this series uses ankle bracelets that have a chip in them. Something to think about DINO  ;)
