Title: Install front brake on the rear?
Post by: Dan71 on July 16, 2017, 10:00:27 PM
i have a couple shimano XT front disc brakes, (caliper, lever and hydro line).  You agree I just need a longer hydro line to turn one more of these into rear bake?

The levers are different for right and left, if installed on the opposite side it would be upside-down.  It would put the reservoir on the under side of the lever which may affect the system.  The manual states that having the bike on it's side or upside-down will cause air bubbles to affect the brake, so installing the lever flipped over may do the same.

The calipers are the same.
