Even though we are currently under construction, the trails that are here are open! We will try to keep you posted of current trail conditions.
Address to park is 10700 Bono Rd.; Terre Haute, IN 47802
-
Trail Conditions are currently Green... with the notice that a few small areas still have mud but are passable. COME RIDE!
-
If you are down in the Terre Haute area, you should really check out the trail system. Those guys are doing amazing things down there and it is a cool place. I did a tour of the bike park in the spring and was impressed.
-
I am goin to be at McCormick's creek state park this weekend and was planning to come check out the park, I can't find a map that identifies were it's at can you get me directions, I will be coming from the Cloverdale exit,
-
I drove by it a few weeks ago, not knowing if it was open or not. If you search for fowler park in Terre haute, there is a Bono road that is just to the east of it. The enterence that I saw was along that road on the east side of the road. I will definitely have to hit up that trail next time I am in Terre haute.
-
Thanks MattW I seen some pics somewhere and it looked sweet,
-
The physical address is 10700 Bono Rd.; Terre Haute, IN 47802. If you get off of exit 7, head south on Hwy 41 until you get out of town. There are signs directing you to Fowler Park. You can turn left either on Harlan or Oregon Church. Bono Rd is a bit over a mile east of 41. If you are on Harlan turn right (south) onto Bono. If you are on Oregon Church go past entrance to Fowler Park and turn left (north) onto Bono. Entrance is about 1/2 mile either way on the East side of road.
-
Thanks, I'm excited about riding there, the description of the trails sounds awesome, and looks like it's going to be a great weekend weather wise
-
Hope to see you on the trails sometime! They are still fresh, need some polishing and smoothing, and we have a LOT more yet to build, but it is a fun beautiful place to ride! Will soon be a regional destination.
-
Trail conditions are Primo!! Come ride! We have group rides with our Bike Park Developer Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday at 6:00 pm. Come meet some of the crew and check out the trails!
-
Trail Conditions are RED. Please stay off and let them dry out.
-
Conditions are YELLOW. Mostly dry with some slick spots. Please be courteous!
-
Conditions are GREEN! Sorry for the delay... Get out and RIDE! Come check out the NEW TRAILS as of 8/22/15 including more beginner Perimeter Trail and an advanced MEGAPUMP!!
-
Trail conditions are RED! Please stay off the trails until they are able to dry out from the rain. Thank you!
-
Conditions are back to GREEN. Get out and RIDE!!
-
So glad to here conditions are GREEN.
I took off work on Thursday this week the 17th just to come out and ride in the park.
I am super stoked to see what is done so far and look forward to putting my wheels in the dirt in Terre Haute.
I live in MCcordsville so it's about a 2 hour drive but sounds like it will be well worth it.
-
ATimman, we are stoked that you are coming to ride! We hope you enjoy what we have built so far. Keep in mind that we are FAR from finished with the ultimate plan, but we do have some good trails down. We are lacking any sort of signage showing where anything is, so you will have to explore a bit. A great reference is to track some Strava routes. Here is a good link for the Griffin Bike Park Club: https://www.strava.com/clubs/GriffinBikeParkIN (https://www.strava.com/clubs/GriffinBikeParkIN)
I am not sure if you can see someone's activity if you are not following them, but try this as it is a great map of the routes: https://www.strava.com/activities/392349085
If you have any questions, let us know!
-
Trail Conditions are back to GREEN! Come Ride!
ATimman... did you get out to the park last Thursday and explore? How did it go?
Also, I will post in the other thread, but we are having a big work day this coming Saturday! First one in over a month and much needed. Please come join us! If anyone is interested in carpooling from the Indy area, I am driving there Saturday morning.
-
I did make it out last Thursday. The trails that are currently built are very nice.
The MEGApump line is not for the faint of heart or beginners by any means but was a blast to ride.
I had to turn around and ride that part 3 or 4 times in a row it was so much fun.
There are no other hills of that size in the area that I am aware of so it makes for a nice change of pace.
I posted a photo of one of the hills on Instagram under #griffinbikepark
-
That is great you got out to ride! Yes, the Megapump is actually in the Expert section of the park and is not complete yet. We plan on working on that section of the trail this coming Saturday, along with tying the Lake Loop into the main, existing trail close to the beginning of the megapump. There are a few other locations in the park with some relatively nice elevation change where we will be adding some drops, short downhill sections, etc.
I can't seem to find your picture on Instagram under #griffinbikepark though.
Hope you get to make it out again!
-
It is the second post under most recent for #griffinbikepark there is a pic of an orange Kona it looks like then my pic of one of the megapump hills then the Griffin park sign with my Yeti against it.
-
Conditions are still GREEN! Come RIDE! Come meet the Friends tomorrow, Saturday Sept. 26th during our Work Day. We have plenty of tools and will be sure you know where all the good trails are...
-
I was wondering if anyone knew how bad the trails are. I am going to be in town this weekend and was planning on bringing my bike to check the trails out. I am hoping they will be dry by then since there isn't any more rain in the forecast and it seems like Terre Haute didn't get too much rain.
-
Trails are currently YELLOW. They do tend to dry quickly in most areas so please use caution and stay off the muddy spots. There is some rain forecast, so it sure what to say about the weekend, but hopefully it is great! We are holding a Take a Kid Mountain Biking event at the park on Saturday. Come join us!
-
Trails are REALLY good. Go Ride
-
Thinking of coming down next week sometime... How much of the system is finished/ridable in terms of mileage, etc.? Looks like a pretty sweet place.
-
Willyjaybob, sorry it took a while to respond! Been busy. There are approximately 7 miles of trails to explore. You can make a good 3-4 mile loop around the lake. We don't have any directional signage up yet so you will have to explore, or ask one of the awesome regulars in the parking lot for a tour. They will be happy to show you around and ensure you get to the good stuff. Trail conditions are great! Hope you get out this week to ride. Let us know what you think!
-
We hope you are all getting out to RIDE these trails in!! Consider it volunteering... getting the trails ridden in and keeping them maintained!! Ha! Come ride and join us for a bit digging in NEW TRAILS this Saturday!!
-
Trail Conditions are currently RED. Please keep off the trails until sufficiently dry. Thank you!
-
Trails are Yellow today.
But there are reports of trees down.
One in the big downhill on the Lakeloop where the Babyhead root was.
And 2 on an expert trail. Trying to find out if its Mega or Bushwack. Be careful on both.
Will try to get out this evening and remove
-
Trail Conditions as of Monday, November 2nd are GREEN! And mega-thanks to Rich Moore for removing the big, dangerous tree from across the Main Trail (Lake Loop) at the bottom of the last big hill north of the lake.
WARNING... there are still trees down on the MEGAPUMP Connector... so use caution.
Get out and ride!!!
-
All trails are currently clear, and riding fast this morning!
-
Trail Conditions are BLUE... Ride when Frozen but STAY OFF when muddy. Thank you!
-
Trail Conditions are currently RED, like most the state! Please stay off the trails until they are either DRY or FROZEN. Thank you!!
-
Trail Conditions are still RED or BLUE! Some areas are getting torn up... PLEASE respect the trails and the amount of effort that has gone in by YOU to build them! Please keep off until DRY or FROZEN. Thank you!
-
Blue... definitely blue.
-
RED!! It is warm out! Alright! But if you are the one(s) riding your bike(s) on the gooey, peanut-butter topped trails then STOP! Please go ride gravel or road! If you are leaving ruts at all then it is too wet! Please don't negate the hours and hours invested in your trails with one ride!!
-
Currently still YELLOW. Trails are running fairly well but definitely still soft to muddy in spots. Please be aware and keep off the soft spots! If you see some new stuff near the little kids' trail it is not complete or tied into anything and is extremely soft. Please keep off until it is complete.
-
Trail Conditions are RED!
-
Currently Trail Conditions are GREEN and awesome! Rain is coming tonight though... so please be aware.
-
Back to RED.
-
Flynn, glad you could make it down! Where did you drive from? We apologize for the lack of way-signage. That is in the works, but the Parks Department is in the process of updating ALL their signage across all parks and we are waiting for that to happen. We hope to at least get up some temporary signs in the meantime. That is great that you got to meet up with some of our amazing regulars to show you around a bit! Keep coming back! Put our grand opening on your calendar!
-
Sounds like the trails are running great! Green for the most part... watch for the soft spots.
-
Trail conditions are RED after the bath we took last night.
Flynn, that is great! Glad you enjoyed it. Come back again. And looking forward to meeting you at the Grand Opening.
-
I was wondering if there was an update on the trail conditions. I will be in town tomorrow for a few hours and was wondering if the trails would be good enough to ride.
-
After the rain conditions today are RED. Luckily our trails dry out fairly quickly, so if we don't get more rain they could be yellow by late Friday afternoon. We will try to post an update tomorrow. Thanks for your interest!
-
Thanks for the update. I don't get a chance to make it over to Terre Haute very often and I rode the trails last fall and really liked them. Hopefully I will be able to make it over there another time soon to check them out again. I am also hoping to make the opening ceremony :D
-
Current trail conditions are RED. Please let the trails dry a bit before checking them out. Thank you!
-
Conditions are YELLOW. Please use caution. Hopefully they continue to improve!
-
GREEN!! Come ride with us during our work weekend!!
-
Trails are GREEN!! There may be a few soft spots left, but come ride!!
-
Was goin to ride tomorrow July 30th and didn't know if there was a lot of rain in that area, is the park open ?
-
Dumped on us some today. Probably be mostly yellow in the morning. Some trails should be green by afternoon if we don't get any more rain. We dry out fairly quick.
-
Cool thanks it will be after 12 before I get there I'll check back before I head that way
-
RED. We have been soaked like most of Indiana. Please take to the roads until we dry!
-
Trails are YELLOW as of 10 am. Please be careful out there and avoid making ruts. We are working hard to be prepared for Grand Opening!
-
Trails are GREEN! Go ride! Just watch for the excavator out pushing the perimeter trail through to the North.
-
Still GREEN today. Just enough rain to keep down the dust.
-
We were spared the rain... We are still Green! Come out and ride this week!
-
This place is awesome.. Rode there yesterday (8/28) and the conditions were fantastic.. Go ride and bring your skillz.. You'll need em!

Thanks for the quick review! I trust William was able to show you the majority of what is in place now. We can't wait to get more trails completed along with additional riding features and some polishing! Please continue to spread the word and come to our Grand Opening!
-
Trails are Green! Sorry for the delay in posting. We do update on our Facebook page too.
-
Trail conditions are AWESOME! Now that you are done with the Epic, come scout out the race courses, dual slalom, jumps, and pump track in preparation for the Grand Opening this Saturday!
-
This weekend good for riding???
-
Wow! It seems trail status these days is a mystery at most places sans the trail status bar. HELP?
