It is less than three weeks till the SWW DINO mtb race, and we need to prep the course! There are trails on the river bottom that need to be groomed. But we need help!!!!
If you have a strong gas-powered weed-eater, it is welcome! If you have a hand sickle or weed whip, that is welcome also! If you have a walk-behind style mower or Bush-Hog, that would work perfectly along the gravel doubletrack.
Any racers that need Paydirt points can bring a hardcopy of the paydirt form, and I will sign off on your work hours done at SWW.
I will post here for work days. First day is tomorrow at 630PM. Meet in the parking lot.

I have a walk behind. I am not sure how wide you want me to mow. I also have been known to use it as a bush hog lol. I am thinking of taking Wednesday night off again and could bring it out.

Let me know if you can, and I'll meet you out there! I can't get there till 730 though. Three feet on either side of the doubletrack is good, but not more than that or it will cut into the wildflowers that cannot be mowed at this time. That stuff is almost too thick to use a weed-eater on, unless it's a heavy duty one. I'll PM you with my cell number.

I spent 3 hours cutting over at SWW last night. I was not sure how far the course uses and it got too dark on me. Get with me to do more. If we can get the mower into other areas it may be quicker than wee eating.

Jeff, what I see in the pic is exactly perfect! The gravel path extends all the way to the picnic tables at the far north end of the park. That will provide a wide enough path for the start of the race to sort riders out, and to have passing lanes during the race. I'll try to get out there Friday evening to see how it looks and if we need more. Thanks for your time and effort! :D

I will probably need to go out there and mow farther north.
FYI - on one of the inside curves, there is a mud hole hidden in the grass with about 3 inches of water standing in it. Not sure how you guys do these danger spots for the races. I almost ran the mower into it because it is hidden pretty well.
After talking to Paul, I may be able to run my mower up the south loop to the power line section and get some of it.
How often does power and light or the state bush hog the power line section?

Don't worry about the big mudhole on the gravel doubletrack. Also, Aaron and I got the new multi-use loop weed-eated this past tuesday on the power line crossings. It could be mowed down further but it's not absolutely necessary.
The next sections we will weed-eat will be on the river bottom trails, working north to south.
