I renew my membership every year with my BCBD entry. Last year, right after renewing, I started receiving notices from IMBA that my membership had expired. I emailed IMBA and got them to stop sending the notices, but no membership packet. No big deal. As soon as I renewed this year I started receiving expiration notices again. I suspect the info's getting lost somewhere between HMBA and IMBA.
It would be nice to have an IMBA sticker to show my support, but I'd settle for knowing that I'm still a member.
Note: IMBA tracks members by email address. If you have ever been an IMBA or HMBA member and provided your email address, you should be in IMBA's database."
Also if you have ever used a different email address
with IMBA you may be in their datebase twice or more
(happened with me). I was getting notices that my membership had expired but it was for the an other email address that I used in the past.
If this happens you can call them (ph 888-442-4622) or email them (Contact at the bottom of the IMBA page) and they can quickly merge your two (or more) files. You just need to tell them which email address you want to use going forward. I found it best just to call them, and get it resolved in a minute or two.
For them to match your two (or more) files you need to give them all the email address(es) that you used with IMBA in the past OR your mailing address(es) that you have used with IMBA.
