FYI, Here are the IMBA specs for trail difficulty. The Walnut expansion should be more difficult.

Hi Paul. When do you expect to start on this new trail? I will make every effort to get down and help. Personaly I am excited about another new trail and will make the 2+ hr. drive to throw some dirt.

Very good info. It will be very easy to stay within these guidelines and have a fun and challenging trail. There is not much of a buzz here in the tri state for these trails, but they are ridden. We found it best to set dates and stick to the plan even if there are only 2 or 3 people marking, and bench cutting trail. Ask me how I know. Planning dates, setting up meetings, and then bailing due to lack of interest is not working.

Had a crazy Ideal. Instead of teetering the property boundry for the loop back ,have the trail cross the road into the middle of the park. The terrain looks good there and it may allow easier access for a campgound connector trail to hook up with the loops.

4 peeps attended the Sat 14th mill about the woods. Scouted the eastern most edge of the expansion parcel and got an idea going which covers the 1st 1/2 mile ish...
Thanks to Pat, Evan, and Evans bro for coming out.
In regards to using 'North of the road'... This area is hopefully going to be used however there are pending studies of this parcel. Same thing with the Youth Camp area....
At any rate- The existing campground connectors are not exactly within IMBA trail Guidelines in regards to grade. Maybe Paul can give his 2 cents when he comes down on the 11th/12th, but I'm betting that it would not be a good idea to use the double track, or even bench the out slope side of the double track to make a single track lane .... too steep of grades = eriosion out the wazoo.

Hey guys, I left a big box of pin flags behind the kiosk this morning. I didnt have much time or i would have taking them over to where the new trail is going in. Be nice to get next section fully scouted and flaged before ground cover comes in. Saturday mornings are good for me if anyone is down to start getting work days going again.

BRING ON THE RHINOS!! I cleared the remaining section on down to the old lake and road bed this eve. WARNING PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RIDE THIS SECTION. The grade is too steep and needs to be bench cut out. You'll see where it gets hairy. There is a creek tributary that is not cut out yet stop there.

Trail is now winding thru the vine grove on the top of the hill past the old lake. Pretty neat looking up there. Give it a week or so and the trail will be moving on down into the next valley. I'll try and remember to take my camera and post some pics.

It's great to see photos of the progress. Looks like it's seeing a good bit of traffic. Thanks for sharing!
