Trails are closed due to extensive rain the last two days.

Trails were awesome July 4th afternoon.   Just a few spots here and there.   I would think they are green by now.

Still yellow.  I trimmed some on Sycamore and the weeds are laying over the trail.  Some are covering slick spots.  There were a lot of campers on the trails with their kids, so hot laps for time should be avoided unless sure there is little traffic.  This shouldn't be a problem with all the racers already up at BCSP for the DINO race.  Rain is still in the forecast for the weekend.

As of 4 pm this afternoon, the trails were "yellow".  The sun came out and dried up all the rain.  Sycamore had a couple of bad spots but nothing to stop riding it.  There is rain in the area now and more expected overnight, so its a crap shoot what the trails will be like tomorrow.  I'll change the status to yellow but be prepared to find an alternative route if the trails are too wet.

Trails are good. Walnut dry. Sycamore spotty with muddy spots. Removed a downed tree on Walnut. Ride on!

The small mudholes are still there on Sycamore but riding on them won't make them worse.  We'll try to fix them so they drain better in the future.  But the status will remain "yellow" while these persist.  A beginner may have problems with a few of these.  Besides these, the trails are perfect.

Trails were fast yesterday. No more brush slicin into arms either. New section has become must smoother and faster from getting hard.  Some of the sandy spot are morst loose though, so be careful.

The trails dried out a lot today - yellow.  Walnut is good; Sycamore has some sloppy spots.

I'm out of the picture for about a month.  Heading north to get out of the heat.  Northern Wisconsin, the UP, and Voyagers NP in Minnesota.  Please update the status here if you ride the trails.  Feel free to help maintain them if they need it.

Serious thunderstorms hitting HSP.  The trails are closed.  Can't say when they'll be ready to ride.

I'm changing the trail status to "yellow".  Ron Pendley posted in FB of a downed tree that can be ridden under, so I'm assuming the trails are okay to ride.  Hated to leave the status "red" before I take off tomorrow morning.  Please report trail status here if you can.

Fyi, It has been raining most of the day in Mount Vernon. My best guess is that the trails are red.
