My experience with the Avon trails is that they were very confusing and sometimes unusually difficult to ride. The trails had many unmarked intersections, a lot of which were unofficially made, and hardly any flow whatsoever. Flat sections would turn sharply into a nearly impossible climb and you could go from difficult trail to really easy without even knowing. I'm sure folks would ride there if the trail system were better designed. I really think it would need a big overhaul, planning, and some capitol. The terrain is nice and has some potential but in my opinion needs a master plan so the bad trails can be reclaimed and the good ones connected in a way that makes the ride more flow better. This is kind of the same thing that is being done at Southwest Way.
Unfortunately like bbeohman I have 4 kids and a demanding schedule. I don't have the time or experience to lead such a project. If I remember correctly this is not an official HMBA trail either so like RNP, Wapehani, or Muscatatuck the trail work needs to be organized with Washington Township Parks independent of the HMBA.
