First Race of the 2013 NIMBA Series is Sunday May 12th at Bendix Woods County Park in New Carlisle Indiana, 10 miles west of South Bend. We have 21 classes this season so there is a class for every age and skill level. The time trial at Bendix Woods winds through a 6.6 mile trail, we have added almost a mile of single track since the race last fall at Bendix. Beginners ride 1 lap everyone else rides 2. All  proceeds from the NIMBA Series races are used by NIMBA and our partner clubs to maintain and develop new trails.  Come ride with us in 2013.  All races are chip timed, with quality medals and series plaques along with grass roots fun.

We re launched the NIMBA website, http://www.nimba-bike.org.  We have created pages for the each of the 4 trails we maintain and also added a calendar of mountain bike and other bike events in Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan.  Come check out our site.

The 2013 NIMBA Mountain Bike Race Series schedule is complete with 8 races in Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan. New in 2013; a Cross Country Race at TK Lawless Park, a return to Rum Village for a Time Trial, along with new classes to encourage more teen and junior racers. We will also be rolling out special race packages geared for beginners and for women.
Come race with us in 2013 The NIMBA Series is always a lot of fun and we invest all of the race proceeds in trail development and maintenance.

The annual Snowball Downhill Mountain Bike Race is scheduled for Saturday night 1-5-13 at Swiss Valley Ski Area in Jones Michigan (north of Elkhart). The race is unique, it is run in a tournament bracket format, with head to head downhill runs, with double elimination. Keep winning, keep riding. It also is a lot of fun. The final race in the Northern Indiana Mountain Bike Association race series is 10-7-12 at Potato Creek State Park (North Liberty, Indiana). The cross country race is always fun at Potato Creek. We just have added a tandem class, so bring a friend and your tandem to race. We have classes for everyone, and a junior and kids race. Potato Creek is a great venue for the whole family. Don’t forget to register for the NIMBA Series time trial at Potato Creek State Park on Sunday July 1st .  The mountain bike trail at Potato Creek is the fastest single track in Northern Indiana.   We added another ½ mile of flowing trail this spring and the trail is now 7.5 miles.  2 laps for expert/elites, two laps for sport, 1 lap for beginners.  Don’t miss out on the fun.

The Final race of the NIMBA 2011 Series is on October 2 at Potato Creek State Park.  The single track trail at Potato Creek is one of the fastest in Northern Indiana. We will be adding some additional hiking trails into the course to create an exciting Cross Country Race.  This is the first Cross Country Race at Potato Creek, so don't miss it. 
The NIMBA races have classes for all abilities, chip timing, great awards, swag and food for the racers.  Bring the family; there are Junior & kids races and Potato Creek State park has a beautiful lake and lots of play areas.  As of this morning, there are also campsites available for Saturday night.
 
Race entry is only $20 online, $10 for Juniors. Day of race registration is $25. Standard state park entrance fees apply.

The sixth race of the NIMBA 2011 Series is on September 18 at Franke Park in Fort Wayne.  This is the second cross country race of the 2011 series and we expect a fun and challenging race in Fort Wayne.

The trail at Potato Creek is in great shape. It was recently trimed for the race last weekend. Downed trees from this weeks storm have been removed.

Help maintain one of the best trails in Southern Michigan at TK Lawless County Park in Vandalia, MI.

Summer trail maintenace morning at TK Lawless Trail in Vandalia, MI. Sunday July 24, 2011 9AM to 1PM, lunch included. Tools provided, just bring gloves and bug spray. Meet at the main shelter. The vines and canes are getting long, so it is time for a good trimming.

The Northern Indiana Mountain Bike Association works with the Cass County Parks Department to maintain and improve the mountain bike trail at TK Lawless Park through several workdays each year at the park.

The Northern Indiana Mountain Bike Association 2011 Race Series
7 Cross Country and Time Trail Races across Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan with all race proceeds going to the participating clubs to fund trails.
 
For 2011 we have added 2 new venues, added cross country races and expanded the classes, including a new kids class.  All races are chip timed, we have race medals to the top three finishers in each class, and series plaques to the top 3 in each class.  Registration is only $20 in advance or $25 day of of race. We also offer a race series discount, pay for 6 races and get the 7th race free.
