The NIMBA Series TK Lawless Mountain Bike Cross Country race is next Sunday 8-3-14.  For the cross country race at TK we use the 10 miles of the mountain bike trail plus some of the hiking trails.  In addition to the hiking trails we used last year, we are adding some more hiking trails to the mix for 2014.  Register online to save $$.  For more information http://nimba-bike.org/race-info/tk-lawless-xc-8-3-14/

 The first race of the Northern Indiana Mountain Bike Association (NIMBA) Series is Sunday April 27th, with the Time Trial at Bendix Woods County Park, New Carlisle Indiana.  Now is the time to dust of the cobwebs and see how you do in an April race.  For more information see the race page at http://nimba-bike.org/race-info/bendix-april27/.

 The final race in the 2013 Northern Indiana Mountain Bike Association race series is Sunday 10-6-13 at Potato Creek State Park.  The single track at Potato Creek is always fast and fun.  We add the sledding hill to the start of the lap for the cross country race.   For more information go to the race page at http://nimba-bike.org/race-info/potato-creek-xc-race/ .
 
We are running our “introduce a friend to racing” promotion for the race at Potato Creek.  Register a friend that has not raced in the NIMBA series this year and you will save $10 on your day of race registration and your friend will save $5. Beginners only ride one lap at Potato Creek and this is a great way to introduce a friend to Mountain Bike racing.
 
All proceeds from the NIMBA series are used for trail building and maintenance.

Advocacy / IMBA Trail Building School Bristol IN Carpool from Indy 9-7-13

We have someone traveling from Indy Saturday morning to attend the IMBA trail building school in Bristol In.  and they are interested in car pooling.  If you are driving up from Indy for the session or know someone that is, send me an email at NIMBA.BIKE@GMAIL.COM and I will pass the information on about carpooling.

NIMBA Series Race  - The Annual Bluhn Zoom Time Trial
The weather is looking good for Sundays Bluhm Zoom time trial and the Outback group is putting the finishing touches on the trail prep at Bluhn County Park (westville, LaPorte County)
 
Pre register online by 8PM Saturday night and save over day of race registration.
 
Remember that all times for this race are CENTRAL TIME.  So everyone east of LaPorte County gets an extra hour of sleep!

 The Tour De LaPorte has added a Mountain Bike Time Trial race to the festival this weekend. The local mountain bike community has spent a lot of hours getting the trail ready for the time trial. If you have ever ridden the trail at Soldiers Park Trail in LaPorte you know it has great terrain.    We are keeping things simple for the first race, three classes,  Advanced, Intermediate and  Beginner for men and a women’s class.    Advanced and Intermediates will ride 2- 8 mile laps, while beginners will ride 1-8mile lap.   Registration is only $20.

The proceeds from Tour De LaPorte support  the community cancer program of IU Health LaPorte Hospital.

 The Tour De LaPorte has added a Mountain Bike Time Trial race to the festival this weekend on Saturday 8/24/13 at 3PM CDT. The local mountain bike community has spent a lot of hours getting the trail ready for the time trial. The NIMBA Series Cross Country Race at Winona is a week away.    We will have a great 7 mile long course setup, with Experts riding 28 miles, Sports 21 miles, Beginners 14 miles. Signup online and save $5 over race day registration.

NIMBA Series Race #4 TK Lawless Cross Country
  Sunday July 21, TK Lawless County Park, Vandalia MI, Just north of Elkhart Indiana

We have expanded the course that we used for the Time Trial at TK to include some of the hiking trails to create a fun and challenging cross country course. Beginners and sports will ride an 11 mile trail with sports doing 2 laps. Experts will do two laps on a 13 mile course.

The third race of the 2013 NIMBA Series is the Time Trial at Potato Creek State Park in North Liberty Indiana on June 30, 2013. Potato Creek has the fasted single track in Northern Indiana which makes for great racing at all levels. Potato Creek is also a fun place to bring the family, there is a playground and nature center adjacent to the start and finish for the race; we will also have both a junior and a kids race. Experts and sports will do 2 laps, beginners do a single lap. All NIMBA series races are chip timed and we have 21 classes this year. First Race of the 2013 NIMBA Series is Sunday May 12th at Bendix Woods County Park in New Carlisle Indiana, 10 miles west of South Bend. We have 21 classes this season so there is a class for every age and skill level. The time trial at Bendix Woods winds through a 6.6 mile trail, we have added almost a mile of single track since the race last fall at Bendix. Beginners ride 1 lap everyone else rides 2. We re launched the NIMBA website, http://www.nimba-bike.org.  We have created pages for the each of the 4 trails we maintain and also added a calendar of mountain bike and other bike events in Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan.  Come check out our site.

Racing...from the novice to seasoned / NIMBA Series 2013

The 2013 NIMBA Mountain Bike Race Series schedule is complete with 8 races in Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan. New in 2013; a Cross Country Race at TK Lawless Park, a return to Rum Village for a Time Trial, along with new classes to encourage more teen and junior racers. We will also be rolling out special race packages geared for beginners and for women.
Come race with us in 2013 The NIMBA Series is always a lot of fun and we invest all of the race proceeds in trail development and maintenance.
