I was just curious if anyone on here has ever competed in an xterra race.  I heard of it recently and found that they hold a race in evansville, logansport, and versailles every year.  I was thinking that once I was done rehabbing from recent knee surgery that I would start training for one of these.


Is there anyone out there that has experience with xterra or other off-road triathlon races that can tell me what to expect?

I'm curious what the consensus is within the biking community.  I am a mountain biker through and through, but have a nice road bike for those times of year that just don't allow for nice trail conditions.  Unfortunately, I crashed on my road bike yesterday and ended up breaking my leg.  With all the time I have been spending sitting around since I got home from the ER, I got to thinking how this probably wouldn't have happened if I was on the trail instead of the road.  That sparked the curiosity, so any insight from all of my fellow bikers out there would be greatly appreciated!
